Quilting Services
Even the simpliest patchwork quilt top blooms after it has been quilted. Whether the top is one you made yourselt or one made by someone else, I offer many options to take your qult top from top to dazzling quilt.
The decision on how a top is quilted depends on the condition of the top (vintage or new) and how the finished quilt will be used. A few important things we'll take into consideration are your vision of how the quilt should look when it's finished, your timeline, and last but not least...your budget.
When you bring your quilt in, I'll look at your quilt, ask you some questions, make some suggestions on how I would quilt it and show you some of the several thousand patterns I have available to use. We'll discuss threads to be used and decide on a batting.
If you do not have a backing, you can pick one of my available backings, or we can order a batik or batik flannel backing that you can pick from the samples in my studio, At that time you can also request additional services such as binding,
I will give you an estimate of the costs which will be within a dollar or two of the final invoice. I expect a down payment of one half when you bring the quilt top. Edge to Edge allover and light custom will usually be ready to pick up with in 3 to 6 weeks. Custom quilts may take up to one year or longer depending on how many quilts are ahead of yours.
I have been machine quilting for 6 years and before that I was a hand quilter for 30 years. I think this experience helps guide my quiltig style now. All of my machine qulting is done on a Gammill Optimum with the Statler Stitcher. I use only the finest quality threads and battings.
